Good afternoon chicas and chollos! I would like to discuss a topic that came to me last minute. WARNING: this blog is all my opinion. It is not to offend anyone, it is just an observation that stemmed from a recent conversation.
Let's start with the hair cut/color:
People, people please: please stop cutting off all your hair to look like Amber Rose. I'm sure we have all seen those infamous pictures of Solange where she decided to "protest" Beyonce haters by chopping off all of her hair. Big mistake! Not only does she look like a feminine boy, but she does not have the features to pull off such a bold cut.
The same goes for all the colors Amber uses to dye her hair. Most of the American population can not spend 5 to 8 hours a day shopping, leaking intimate photos and interviewing with magazines. We usually spend those hours "on the clock" at somebody's 9 to 5. The companies most of us work for have dress codes that usually state everything from skirt length to hair color. It's just not acceptable to come to work with your hair a bright shade of neon blue. Sometimes I wonder when I see pictures of Rose wanna-bes in the club, "Where the hell do you work with that hair color!?!"
Ms. Amber's taste in clothes is debatable to some, but I personally love her style. She seems to gravitate towards short stretchy outfits in assorted candy colors. By the looks I've seen on the street, it looks like there are a few women who love the stretch too. The only problem with all that spandex is that it shoudn't be the only material in your wardrobe! Having a pair or 2 of tights in your closet is cool but if you have a pair for everyday of the year, you might want to think about adding a little denim and cotton to your closet. Especially limiting the neons (discussed on the last blog). I think it goes without saying that just because it's made in every size doesn't mean every woman can wear it. Remember that Hollywood is all about an image and if you look like you have an ounce of fat out of place you're talked about. Famous women (including Amber), wear spanx, special bras and body shapers to squeeze into these form fitting dresses and look flawless. With that said, if you put on one of these dresses you might want to pick up one of these "devices" to keep your shape in check.
